Self-Land
A weaving fabric collaboration project
In today's increasingly globalised world, power and identity face challenges and crises. Taiwan, a nation grappling with issues of independence and sensitive outcomes, is deeply affected by these conflicts, which in turn impact its people's sense of belonging and cultural connection. To convey the tension and complexities between Taiwanese and Chinese identities, the design has curated a collection of materials and patterns.
This assortment of textiles and motifs is inspired by the unique character, pride, and blend of their distinct culture. By raising questions through pattern design and the country's own color identity, the collection serves as an exploration of the intricate relationship between these two intertwined identities.
